Salomon Box Office Woes

They're not really woes in all honesty. More so just random thoughts as I sit here waiting for someone, anyone, to buy a ticket for Eurydice. I sold one Monday. But alas I will be shocked if anyone comes by today.
What is Eurydice you may be wondering? (if not you should be now)
Well, I shall tell you. Eurydice is a contemporary version of the Greek myth of Orpheus. He is this super mega foxy awesome musician and he is in love with Eurydice. They get married and everything's going grand. Until she dies. So then Orpheus is on a mission to get her back from the underworld. Now usually the story is told from his perspective, but we're changing it up a bit. It's primarily from Eurydice's point of view. You'll meet her father and Hades (who is overtly creepy mind you) who both present challenges throughout the play. And you can't have a Greek play without a Greek chorus: The stones. (That's ME).
And even if you think the story is absolutely dreadful (it's not, but I guess one could have that opinion if they're completely void of imagination and the like) you must see it just for the set. We have an elevator that rains. A river that flows. And Greek columns. Seriously though, this set is absolutely epic. You're loss if you don't get your butt in gear and buy a ticket.
Dates: November 1st (Tuesday) through November 5th (Saturday) at 8pm.
(And because it's THAT amazing) Encore performances November 19th at 2pm and 8pm.
It's cheaper than a movie ticket... so there is absolutely no excuse not to support me and this theatre department. If I have to guilt trip you into it then so be it. I'm not above groveling either. So just do it!!!!
End of my random thoughts. :D

My thoughts on Fallen- Honestly? I felt like I read it before. Evermore anyone? They're insanely alike. Although I think I like Fallen better... but still.. not enough to read the whole series unfortunately. In fact I think I want to go on Wikipedia and just read what happens. There's too much description and fluff and not enough plot. Although I do have to say the author did a very good job keeping the ending a surprise.. however.. the plot twists were kind of over the top.
I did get a new book from Barnes and Nobles that is so not on my reading list... I am going to return the book and get one that is actually on it.. Because I only have a month and five days to read eleven books. Hahhahahahaha. Challenge accepted.

4) Clockwork Angel: Cassandra Claire
5) Water for Elephants: Sara Gruen
6) Blood Promise: Richelle Mead
7) City of Fallen Angels: Cassandra Claire

13) Thirst: Christopher Pike
14) Wizard's First Rule: Terry Goodkind
15) Redeeming Love: Francine Rivers
16) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: J.K. Rowling

So I have to give a review on the three books I finished... Harry Potter is self-explanatory. Best book in existance. The other two... however, are not.
Catching Fire- Pretty darn good. I didn't enjoy it as much as the Hunger Games but it was still good and propelled the plot well. Katniss, the main character (although I love her) can get a little irritating with all the drama. But overall I still enjoyed it very much. I'd give it four stars.
Mockingjay- So disappointed. The story was good just like the rest of the series, but somehow this book just seems badly written. Collins spends half the time 'telling' the story instead of 'showing' it... and the parts she does show are overly violent and unsatisfying. But really it's the ending that really upset me the most... It was like she got bored with the story and wanted to wrap it up as fast as possible. Two and a half stars.

I'm already on to the next one, and I don't have very high hopes for it, but we'll see. haha. In the meantime I'll keep working two jobs and try to refrain not to pull out my hair. :D

15) Catching Fire: Suzanne Collins

Hunger Games-
I enjoyed this book very much. It had me on the edge of my seat half the time and I literally read it in one day. Today actually. I've read plenty of books about futuristic societies and their 'questionable' practices (Uglies by Scott Westerfield for example) but this one takes the cake. It made me laugh, cry, bite my nails... It's a twisted combination of Lord of the Flies and the short story The Lottery with a female lead that I couldn't help but root for. My only complaint is the random times I felt the desire to skip a few paragraphs that seemed more like filler (redundant) paragraphs than anything else. With that said I still can't wait to start the sequel or the Movie!!!!!

Until Next Time :D
